The following is an extract from a letter that the Minister has received from Premier Duff Roblin of Manitoba with regard to the probable location of a radar station in the vicinity of Gysumville:
"I have your letter of September 21st in regard to the probable location of a radar station in the vicinity of Gypsumville in this province.You may be sure that the co-operation between your department and this province in the field of radar development will be continued. We are pleased to give permission to your department to proceed with necessary surveys on provincial lands in the Gypsumville area in order to establish location of the necessary sites.
I am informing my colleague the Hon CH Witney, Minister of Mines and Natural Resources, of the steps which are to be taken. No doubt the Real Estate Branch of the Department of Transport will be in touch with Mr Witney after the necessary surveys have been completed."
Would you please, therefore, ensure that when instructions issue to the Department of Transport, or any other agency engaged in the acquistion programme, the Honourable Mr Witney, Provincial Minister of Mines and Natural Resources be consulted.
