16 Dec 1953 - F/O DG Tracey

F/O DG Tracey was assigned with 439 Squadron at North Luffenham. Official records indicate that he reported to 439 Squadron during the week of 9-15 November 1953. He was killed when his aircraft experienced fuel exhaustion on 16 December 1953. He was unable to eject but climbed from his aircraft to attempt parachuting near Loughborough, England. His funeral was held during the afternoon of 21 December 1953.

While stationed at North Luffenham, England, F/O Tracy was killed when his Canadian F-86 Mark II Sabre Serial Number 19137 crashed due to fuel exhaustion near Loughborough, England on the 16th of December, 1953.
