1956 - Freight Train Arrives at Armstrong - Bob Wanner

Class U-1-e Mountain No. 6051 has just arrived at Armstrong, Ontario on a cold, but bright, 6 February 1956 and has pulled its train to the far west end of the yard. The locomotive will now be cut off the train and moved to the servicing tracks for needed attention as well as being cooled and watered.

As no additional motive power was available in Armstrong on this day, the locomotive will be returned to this train to continue west down the Allanwater Subdivision to Sioux Lookout.

The front mounted bell on the 6051 is rather unusual since most locomotives of this class wore the bell behind the steam dome, much closer to the cab.
